Challenge #86 ~ For A Child

Hello all, and welcome to CC&CC!
You know, picking a theme seems to get harder all the time. We do so many basic ones repeatedly, color theme, layout, animals, birthday, etc, etc. I really would appreciate any suggestions you may have for themes that may be a bit different that you would enjoy seeing here at CC&CC. When we do really different themes we don't get nearly the amount of entries.  It.could because our theme doesn't inspire you, or be a challenge where the card you've already made doesn't match.  For those of you who make a card specifically for our challenge, we really appreciate the time you take to create it   We LOVE to see all your creations, because YOU inspire US!   We APPRECIATE ALL of our participants!

OK! For this next two weeks we are looking for CARDS For A Child. Let's face it, they are so much fun to make. We have our SUPER sponsor with us, Bugaboo! They have so many awesome images, and tons of them for children! The winner of our challenge will receive 7 FREE IMAGES!

Be sure to visit their site and have a look around.

Time to take a look at the adorable cards the ladies have done for you. As ALWAYS, they have created some awesome cards! I thank my DT for being SO GREAT!

  1. Great Dt cards. I read your intro with interest. I love to see different themes but it is a shame that less people are prepared to challenge themselves. I am on a DT and chose nautical as the theme and our entries were way down. Another time somebody chose a nursery rhyme as a theme, which I though was interesting but hardly anyone entered. It seems nowadays too many people want to make a card that they will try to fit into a huge nunber of challenges, which to me isn't the point of a challenge. Thanks for a great challenge blog x

    1. Marianne, I know exactly what you mean. I had written some "thoughts" in the above post regarding the fact that less ladies are taking the time to make a card just for a specific challenge, etc. I took the sentences out - I really don't want to tick anyone off, lol. But it is so true. Mostly we just make a card, and then look for a challenge to enter it in that matches what we made. Thanks to Paper Playful, that is very easy to do. And that is OK! BUT, as you say, and I totally agree, that is not the purpose of a true challenge. So glad you like our blog, and we really appreciate your support! Hugs, Joanne

  4. First let me say that the DT did a great job with such beautiful colors. Also, thank you for the challenge. I want to come back and make another comment in a minute when I finish entering my card into other challenges.

  5. Okay, the name of your challenge is great. I'd like to see some food and/or drink challenges. Maybe some animal challenges other than dogs & cats or a winged challenge or flowers only. I am guilty of seeing a challenge and it has the word "vintage" or "steampunk" and I freeze up because it's out of my comfort zone or I'm not really sure what that theme is. I had to look up Art Journal the other day. We get comfortable with an anything goes challenge. Sometimes on certain themes we think........hmmm, what in the heck am I gonna do with this card afterwards. Do what I do if you don't think you're going to use it after the challenge.......I pick it apart and recycle it into different cards sometimes. Your blog is a great place to come and play.

    1. Thanx so much Bunny for playing along with us and for you great comments! You are going to like our next challenge, it involves food or drinks! I understand the "Freeze". I was on a DT that had a steampunk challenge. I was VERY intimidated and not sure what that was! I looked at lots of cards that were steampunk and got the idea. It challenged me to try it and I really liked it. I like the idea of picking the cards apart and reusing the pieces, very good! And so glad you like joining us! Hugs, Joanne

  8. First of all thank you for the challenge and beautiful inspiration! Your question got me thinking, and personally I like a variety of challenges: sometimes more general (Birthdays, spots, animals or something similar) and those times I usually challenge myself by combining a few different challenges that inspire me. I feel I'm relatively new to crafting, so I try to challenge myself with a new technique every once in a while, but I do appreciate instructions (could be simply a link to a tutorial) or definitions (like in the case of steampunk) to help me along. And sometimes really specific themes are fun, but then my participation depends on e.g. do I have suitable supplies (digis, papers...), and sometimes I need a little bit more time for the challenging one's where I have to mull it over and return to the DT and participant inspiration. But in general I do prefer a specific theme compared to an anything goes. So those are my ramblings on the subject :)
